The new mums spin class taking the South East by storm!
Having a new baby can be daunting, especially if pre-baby you liked to work out. Not everyone feels comfortable using a crèche for their little one despite many venues having one on site. So where does that leave you if you want to work out?
Baby Spinning of course! Yes you heard us right, a spinning class for mums with the added benefit of being able to gaze adoringly at your little bundle of joy as you sweat that baby weight away!
Here’s 5 things you need to know about this fabulous new craze and 5 Tips for taking part!
5 Things you need to know:
There could be a class right on your doorstep – we found out about Baby spinning from our fantastic Mummies Club business member Arena Leisure in Camberley. They run baby spin classes every Friday at 12.30.
You can keep your baby close – each baby spin class has space for babies in car seats directly in front of their mums. This means you can see and talk to your baby all the way through the class hopefully preventing any tears.
You can stop when you like – rest assured if your little one does decide to have a wobble (and let’s face it they all do when you are trying to do something for you!) you can just hop off the bike, settle them and then carry on with the class. One of the Mummies at the Arena Leisure class did say she thought you were far more likely to hear Mummies crying in pain at the exercise than their babies!
You’ll probably burn even more calories by laughing – baby Spin is a really lovely and fun class. The instructors at Arena Leisure are keen to ensure everyone is comfortable an encourage mums to have a good time and laugh.
The music is easy on the ear – the music in each Baby spin class is kept to a nice level suitable for the babies meaning you don’t need to worry about their tiny ear drums.
5 Tips for taking part
You might need to bring an extra blanket for your little one just to keep them snug as the room is obviously kept cool with most people working up a sweat.
Take plenty of water.
Take a small towel as you are guaranteed to work up a sweat.
It might be worth investing in a bike seat cushion!
If you don’t live locally to Arena leisure why not approach your local gym or leisure centre to see if they would consider putting something similar on because all the Mummies said how great it was to be able to bring their babies with them and highly recommended it.
Arena Leisure are always really keen to hear from local Mummies and customers to see what else they can offer to make life easier to exercise with babies/children so do always take the chance to have your say and give some feedback to them.
