Planning a party for a little (or big) one can be enjoyable but it can also be extremely stressful. Here at Mummies Club we’ve simplified things by creating the party must have list, complete with some fabulous party trends for this year.
Must Have… A Theme
Every part needs a theme, whether its pirates, princesses, diggers or Disney it’s a definite must have.
Top themes for 2017 include anything unicorn, Pokemon, Disney’s Moana, Lego Batman, outdoor adventure parties, emoji parties, reptile parties and our favourite chocolate parties.
Must Have… Entertainment
Let’s be honest, as a parent having some kind of entertainment at your child’s party keeps you sane. If you are stuck for ideas read on…
Whether it’s a case of make your own or get a professional in, photo booths are a great way to keep everyone entertained and a simple google search will bring you 1000 ideas in an instant. We like this idea from popsugar.com
Bouncy castles, oversized sumo suits or blow up hamster balls the choice is endless. If you are after a never ending supply of fun and entertainment this is the choice for you.
Traditional Party Games
Sometimes the traditional party games are the best source of entertainment. Whether you choose do DIY or get a professional in check out this list game ideas on the party pieces blog.
Must Have… Food
Party Food doesn’t have to be complicated. A top tip is being organised before the event. We love these party boxes from party pieces as you can fill them with non perishables the day before (think crisps, biscuits, cakes, drinks) and then just pop in your fresh food just before serving. It’s such an easy option and cuts down on the washing up and the boxes are available in so many different designs.
Have a Food Station
Having a table or “station” at your party can keep the kids busy. Things like cookie building, make your own milkshake or a chocolate fountain go down a treat! Find out how to recreate the cookies station above at pbs.org
Must Have… Party Bags
Ok so every child looks forward to the end of party “party bag”. Whether you choose to go traditional with small toys, sweets and the obligatory slice of birthday cake or switch things up a bit this is definitely a party must have! Read on for two alternative ideas to the traditional bag.
Buy a Book
Why not treat each child to a new book. Pair it with a handmade bookmark or small packet of sweets and you’ve got something your guests are more likely to enjoy long after the party has ended.
Craft activities go down a treat whatever age your party guests. We like these canvases from Wilkinsons.
