We know what you’re thinking. It’s VERY true that it can be difficult to summon up the energy to exercise when you’ve spent all day looking after a tantrumming toddler.
But, the experts tell us that a good work-out is a guaranteed stress-reliever and that a sustained exercise regime will actually make you feel more awake at the end of a long day. Plus, we reckon you might deserve a tiny morsel of cake when you’ve finished one of these routines – so that’s surely incentive enough?
#1 Postnatal Rescue Erin O’Brien
First things first – if you’ve just had a baby, you might be tempted to get going on the hardcore training – but GO EASY! You’ve just grown an actual human, so start with something a little gentler and make sure you get your doctor’s approval before cracking on with some exercise. We love Erin O’Brien’s Postnatal Rescue – it focuses on strengthening your core and pelvic floor muscles and has three stages to work through. Yes, it’s a tiny bit cheesy, but it includes a cameo from Erin’s hottie husband – James Denton of Desperate Housewives fame. Bonus!
#2 The Body Coach TV
Joe Wicks – AKA the Body Coach – is an Internet phenomenon, with millions of people all over the globe swearing by his work-outs and recipes. Wicks focuses on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), where you work up a sweat quickly during intense bursts of exercise, followed by less hardcore recovery periods. He posts new work-outs every single week on his YouTube channel, so it’s worth tuning in
#3 JoinFlex TV
This is a brilliant website where you can join work-outs with real personal trainers wherever you are on the globe. You can tune into Pilates, dance, Zumba or aerobics classes and get the encouragement as if you’re in a class, even though you’re in the comfort of your own home. There’s even a class for mummies, designed to give us better bellies, bottoms and thighs in 30 minutes. We’re game, if you are?
We love a bit of Davina, and she’s a total hero for regaining THOSE abs after having three children. Yes, we may be more than a little jealous – but thankfully she promises to help us sort out our tummies in this wicked little exercise DVD. If you fancy working up a real sweat in a short time, this is the work-out for you. Perfect for nap-time exercising.
